MISOH, known as Sally Oh amongst friends and Oh Yerin 오예린 with family, is a multi-disciplinary artist who earned her MA in Sociology and Creative Writing from NYU, BFA in Apparel Design from RISD, and classical fine art training from Dallas Arts Studio. Her professional experiences range from designing and patternmaking for notable labels, teaching fashion design, drawing, and political art theory, to creating commissioned wearable / art.
MISOH is interested in cultural histories and their impact on relationships and selfhood. As a diasporic femme who was born in Seoul and raised in Dallas, she has explored notions of identity and connection since adolescence. Largely inspired by the deconstruction of her bicultural, conservative upbringing and her efforts to push forth an expansive future, her work commemorates process as product.
MISOH enjoys candor and loud music. All (good) music! She categorizes songs by emotion, not by genre, and in this way, she connects with people from all walks of life who are in earnest pursuit of something meaningful. Now, tell me about you.
